Giving Change a Chance.

Change is an inevitable part of life, and it presents us with opportunities for personal growth and ultimately social progress.

Whether it's wanting to learn a new language, shift a rooted mindset, exercise more, eat healthier, stick with that New Years resolution or embark on a new career journey, successful changes require determination, self-awareness, and an understanding of the challenges that lie ahead.
Everyone knows that change can be difficult.
Someone once asked me what I did for a living, and I said, "In rapidly changing times, I foster organizational evolution. In other words, I spend a great deal of time with leaders and teams in organizations that feel a bit stunted in their growth. I help organizations mature."
I also help leaders see the value and ROI in creating DEI programs and activities at their company that, when incorporated through daily processes and activities, become the keys to positively changing the culture of a workplace and ultimately the business at large.
One of the best ways to begin these efforts is to get "individual" with people - or as one of my DEI colleagues likes to say, "dive into every single individual cell of that Excel spreadsheet and dig deeper."

Michael Jackson, American singer, songwriter, dancer and "King of Pop" delivered these beautiful lyrics when he debuted his song, Man in the Mirror:
"I'm starting with the
man in the mirror.
I'm asking him to
change his ways.
And no message could've
been any clearer:
If you wanna make the
world a better place,
take a look at yourself
and then make a change."
Humans are creatures of habit, and our comfort zones provide us with a sense of security. Stepping outside these familiar boundaries can be intimidating, leading to fear of the unknown and resistance to change.
Habits, whether positive or negative, become ingrained over time.
Breaking away from unhealthy patterns requires conscious effort, discipline, and a commitment to creating new, constructive habits and ways of thinking.
Change is a journey that requires courage, commitment, and a willingness to confront obstacles head-on. Embracing change not only leads to personal growth but also empowers us to be agents of social justice. By cultivating effective social justice habits that address power, privilege, supremacy, and leadership, we actively contribute to creating a more equitable and inclusive world.
So, let's embark on this transformative path together, supporting each other, and celebrating the positive impact we can make in our lives and in the lives of others.
